| By John Ham & Robert Bucenec. The fourth and last volume in this brilliant photographic history of Catskill Mountain Railroads is about the little-known railroad that operated from 1906 to 1942 between Arkville and East Branch. Of the 39 miles of track, 19 miles are now underwater. Where once stations and towns stood is now the Pepacton Reservior, with tracks and foundations only visible during drought years. The book is filled with one-of-a-kind photographs of places long gone, and historic structures such as a Roebling suspension bridge still in use today. Great b&w photos and a good historic text make this a must have for fans of railroads and lost Catskills Villages. 8.5x11 208 pages 100s of photos and maps Hardcover |
