Originally published in 17 volumes by the New York Historical Society, this single CD presents abstracts of all the wills on file in the Surrogate’s office in New York City. Eleven volumes contain abstracts of letters of administration from 1744-1800, two volumes contain unrecorded wills prior to 1800. All other original documents found in the records of wills have been included, as-well-as any Historical Society notes. The pages are presented as images and the index as a searchable text file, so a click on the index entry will bring up the appropriate page referenced.
